Saudi Arabia is leading a futuristic pathway. The Mirror Line, which consists of two parallel towers that will span 75 miles of different terrain, is being planned by Saudi Arabia. It could cost up to $1 trillion, which is equal to Indonesia’s total GDP.

After obtaining private planning records, The Wall Street Journal published information on the project on Saturday. The buildings, which are planned to have mirror-like surfaces, would pierce through desert and mountains before reaching the coast and the water. The Journal presented renderings of the project created by artists.

According to the sources close to the project, the publication reported that the cost could reach $1 trillion. According to The Journal, it will be home to 5 million people and include a high-speed train that runs underneath the structures, vertical farms, a sports arena, and a yacht harbor.

The Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had previously unveiled a concept for a linear town and had instructed officials to build something on the size of the Egyptian pyramids.
Neom is a massive, futuristic megacity under construction on the Red Sea that will be the size of Massachusetts. Blueprints that The Journal previously received included designs for false rain, a fake moon, robotic maids, and hologram teachers.

Saudi Arabia had planned to raise international money for the project, but the West has generally shunned the country in the wake of the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. When President Joe Biden met with the crown prince earlier this month, Saudi Arabia’s reputation as a pariah state was put to rest.
According to the Wall Street Journal, high oil prices are actually assisting Crown Prince Salman in advancing the Mirror Line and Neom project by providing cash for the pricey undertaking.

The project is scheduled to be finished in 2030, but contractors and urban planners have trouble finding answers to several issues. The project’s original completion date was 50 years.
