After hitting comedian Chris Rock on the stage at the Oscars 2022, Will Smith made the news. Following the issue, he is said to be in therapy.

Following the historic incident, the actor faced a lot of hostility from the film industry and his fans. As a result, the Oscar winner has been barred from attending the Academy’s annual awards show and other activities for the next ten years. Furthermore, following the incident, some of his ideas were apparently scrapped and others were placed on hold. In the midst of the controversy’s several setbacks, it has been revealed that the actor is now in therapy.

After Chris Rock cracked a joke on his wife’s baldness, Will Smith then walked onstage and smacked Rock, then returned to his seat and shouted at him twice, ‘Keep my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth!’ to a stunned audience.

Later that evening, Smith apologized to the Academy and other nominees in his acceptance speech after winning the Best Actor Oscar for his role as tennis father Richard Williams in King Richard, but he made no mention of Rock.

He said, ‘I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong.’ ‘The list of those I have hurt is long,’ Smith said, ‘and includes Chris, his family, many of my dear friends and loved ones, all those in attendance, and global audiences at home.’

Smith has kept a low profile since the Oscars, with a source telling People that he was in Mumbai, India, on April 23 to focus on spirituality, yoga, and meditation.

A source informed Page Six last month that Smith had yet to personally contact Rock following the Academy Awards, raising doubt about Smith’s visit to India.

‘Will’s “spiritual journey” to India for yoga and meditation seems cynical and ridiculous, given that he hasn’t apologized personally to the one person he assaulted in front of millions,’ the source said. ‘No amount of Namastes will make up for that.’

Rock has stayed relatively mum about the incident involving Smith at the Oscars, briefly addressing it at On his stand-up tour, he performed a few comedy events but did not go into detail about what happened.

The Emmy-winning comedian was in attendance at the Netflix Is a Joke festival at the Hollywood Bowl on Tuesday, where comedian Dave Chappelle was attacked onstage by a 23-year-old guy named Isaiah Lee, who was armed with a replica handgun with a huge fold-out blade. (Lee was arrested in connection with an assault with a deadly weapon in the attack.)

Following the jarring incident, Rock took the mic and asked, ‘Was that Will Smith?’ garnering huge cheers from the crowd.
