After Depp’s attorney asked why ex-husband Johnny Depp refuses to look her in the eyes, Amber Heard became upset on the witness Tuesday. The dramatic moment came after the “Aquaman” actress’s testimony on Monday, during which she stated that after she filed for divorce, Depp swore he would never look at her again.
“Because he’s guilty,” Heard said while looking at the jury in Fairfax, Virginia.

“He knows he’s lying,” she added, choking up slightly.
During a conversation in a San Francisco hotel room in 2016, the year of their split, Depp assured Heard, “you will not see my eyes again,” according to the audio produced in court.
When Depp’s attorney, Camille Vasquez, inquired if her ex-husband had maintained his word, Heard said yes.
“He can’t [look at me],” Heard said.
Vasquez quickly followed up with, “Mr. Depp hasn’t looked at you once during this trial?”

The jury was then shown a video from 2016, in which Depp can be heard telling his ex-wife that he would never look at her again after she accused him of domestic violence, according to The New York Post.
“I am nothing to you, and I will always be nothing to you. You will not see my eyes again,” Depp said in the recording, played in the courtroom.
Depp’s legal team then asked The Rum Diary star if he had kept the promise he made in the audio recording, to which she replied: “As far as I know, he cannot look at me.”
“Unfortunately, all of this is real. Johnny and I lived this. We lived through this. I lived through this and I narrowly survived it but I survived it,” she added

Depp is suing Heard for $50 million in defamation after she wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post in December 2018 describing herself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse.”
He denies abusing her and alleges that her accusations have ruined his career and reputation.
Following a 10-day break in proceedings, the high-profile court case began on Monday. The trial will continue on May 27, with closing arguments likely.
