Keanu Reeves opened up on his ‘dream’ to play Batman in a live-action movie

One of Hollywood’s most adored and well-known actors is Keanu Reeves. Fans go crazy every time he makes an appearance on the big screen since he has become incredibly popular in every part he has performed up to this point.

Recently, the star of The Matrix spoke candidly about his admiration for the iconic superhero Batman and his desire to play the part on the big screen.

The 57-year-old actor recently attended the premiere of DC’s League of Super-Pets on the red carpet. The movie is about the pets of DC’s greatest superheroes; Dwayne Johnson plays Krypto, the dog of Superman, and Kevin Hart plays Ace, the dog of Batman.

As Bruce Wayne, Reeves lends his vocal talents, making this the first time the actor has ever performed The Dark Knight.

Reeves discussed his love of Batman and whether or not he would play the superhero in a live-action film with multiple reporters as he walked the red carpet for the film’s premiere on Saturday.

Speaking to Extra, he said: “I love Batman as a character – and I love him in the comic books and in the films. So to get the opportunity to voice– to play Batman, was awesome.”

When asked if he would ever consider suiting up as Batman in a live-action role, Reeves said: “It’s been a dream, but [Robert] Pattinson’s got Batman right now – he’s doing awesome. So, maybe down the road – maybe when they need an older Batman.”

Reeves admitted that despite expressing his admiration for the superhero, he “never came close” to playing Batman during his career in a different interview with PEOPLE.

“I really love Batman, as a kid – comic books – I was reading Batman, Dark Knight,” Reeves told AP.  “There’s been so many incarnations of the character and it’s a character I’ve always wanted to play.

It didn’t take long for Twitter users to endorse the notion when he expressed his wish to one day play an older Bruce Wayne on the big screen.

“I absolutely adore Robert Pattinson as batman but if Keanu Reeves had the opportunity to play as him – yo, that would be so f****** dope,” wrote one Twitter user.

A second added: “Love to see Keanu Reeves as an alternative Batman.”

“I would most definitely take a Keanu Reeves Batman movie,” tweeted a third.

Robert Pattinson apparently plans to reprise his part in The Batman sequel due to the film’s success.

Additionally, in the next DC film The Flash, both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton will return as their respective iterations of Batman. In the upcoming film starring Leslie Grace as the title character, Batgirl, Keaton will also play an older Bruce Wayne.

Chris Hemsworth Ditched Meat For Kissing Scene With Natalie Portman in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’

Chris Hemsworth is just as heroic off-screen as the Marvel superhero he portrays. He even gave up eating meat before filming a scene in which he kissed Natalie Portman, who is a vegan, in “Thor: Love and Thunder.”

The actress, who played Jane Foster again in the latest “Thor” movie, and her co-star Tessa Thompson recently appeared on the UK radio program “Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp,” where they spoke of Hemsworth’s kindness. The two guests were interrogated by the hosts about whether Hemsworth had any flaws hidden beneath the muscle and charisma, but Portman and Thompson only had good things to say about the stalwart of Marvel to say.

“The day we had a kiss scene, he didn’t eat meat that morning because I’m vegan,” Portman said of Hemsworth. “He eats meat like every half hour … he was just being thoughtful.”

Portman converted to vegetarianism at the age of nine and has been a vegan for more than ten years. She said on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp that she didn’t ask Hemsworth to refrain from meat before their kiss; instead, he just did it because he’s “a very good person.”

Praising her thoughtful co-star, Portman said: “He’s really nice.

“The day we had a kiss scene, he didn’t eat meat that morning because I’m vegan.

“And he eats meat like every half hour. Like, that was so thoughtful. That’s not something I’m angry about or care about, but he was just being thoughtful. He’s just a very nice person.”

Thor: Love and Thunder star Tessa Thompson, added: “I didn’t even know he could go without eating meat. He’s [usually] just, like, eating bison in the morning. That’s so sweet.”

Hemsworth said last month that he was in “awe” of Portman’s presence and talent on set in an equally gushing interview.

He told Variety: “A little stab to the ego, but I quickly got over it and I was in awe of everything she had done one and off the screen. I’m such a fan.”

Despite her professional knowledge, the preparation required for Thor: Love and Thunder were very different from anything she had to do in the past.

Portman stated in a recent interview with Variety that she was instructed “to go as big as possible” for the film.

“It was really fun,” she said. “I worked with a trainer, Naomi Pendergast, for, I think it was four months before shooting, and then obviously all the way through filming. We did a lot of weight training and a lot of protein shakes—heavyweight training that I haven’t ever done before.”

She added: “Of course, I’ve never really aimed to get bulky. It was very physical, so it was a lot of both agility work and also strength work.”

Johnny Depp shuts down rumors he’s returning to ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’

The report of Johnny Depp returning to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise was refuted by a Depp spokeswoman, who told NBC News that it was “made up.” Despite a recent rumor that the actor was being offered a $301 million deal to do precisely that, Johnny Depp will not be playing Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean series again.

“Disney is very interested in patching up their relationship with Johnny Depp,” the source said. “They are very hopeful that Johnny will forgive them and return as his iconic character.”

Johnny Depp says he'll never play Jack Sparrow in a Pirates of the Caribbean movie again | GamesRadar+

However, the rumor has since been denied after Depp’s representatives told NBC News, per E! News: “This is made up.”

In every pirate of the Caribbean film, Depp played Captain Jack Sparrow; his most recent performance was in the 2017 film Dead Men Tell No Tales.

The Sunday Times questioned the action series’ producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, in May about whether the Edward Scissorhands actor was in discussions to reprise his role as the beloved pirate in the midst of Depp’s defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard.

Bruckheimer responded: “Not at this time,” but then he followed up and added: “The future is yet to be decided.”

There are apparently two separate scripts for a future Pirates film in development, with Margot Robbie tipped to play the lead in one of them. However, since Depp was fired from his role as a result of allegations against him, many of his admirers have been calling for his comeback.

Fans have also created a petition called: “We want JOHNNY DEPP back as CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW” which currently has over 875,000 signatures.

Disney has never acknowledged that Depp’s participation in upcoming PotC films was suspended because of Heard’s accusations.

Sean Bailey, executive vice president of production at Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture, stated the following to The Hollywood Reporter in 2018:

“We want to bring in new energy and vitality. I love the [Pirates] movies, but part of the reason Paul [Wernick] and Rhett [Reese] is so interesting is that we want to give it a kick in the pants. And that’s what I’ve tasked them with.”

In his recent, well-reported defamation lawsuit against his former wife, which ended earlier this month (June 2022) as the jury unanimously agreed with the Fantastic Beasts actor, Depp’s portrayal of Jack Sparrow was a major topic.

Ben Rottenborn, Depp’s lawyer, brought up the prospect of a return to the Pirates of the Caribbean during the actor’s testimony during the six-week jury trial.

Rottenborn asked: “If Disney came to you with 300 million dollars and a million alpacas, nothing on this Earth would get you to go back and work with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean film?”

To which Depp replied: “That is true.”

Although the allegations have been put to rest, it appears that Depp is concentrating on his music career as he will be touring abroad with the Hollywood Vampires next year, including Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, and Tommy Henriksen.

‘Tom Hanks in a fat suit’ is the worst part of the new ‘Elvis’ movie as per the criticism of viewers

Tom Hanks’ most recent performance in the Elvis Presley biography has drawn criticism from viewers.  The film Elvis, directed by Baz Luhrmann and starring 30-year-old Austin Butler as the eponymous music legend, was released in theatres earlier this month.

Tom Hanks, 65, who portrays Colonel Tom Parker, the renowned manager of Presley, appears with Butler.

Despite the fact that Hanks has built a successful career on the strength of his outstanding performances in films like Forrest Gump, Philadelphia, Toy Story, and Captain Phillips, viewers have dubbed his work in Elvis as the “worst part” of the film because they couldn’t get past the use of a fat suit to simulate Parker’s larger frame.

Even though the film hasn’t even been out for a week, disgruntled moviegoers have taken to social media to criticize Hanks’ performance.

Tom Hanks in 'Elvis' is a career worst. Here's why it's shocking - Los Angeles Times

“Tom Hanks was the worst part of the Elvis movie. The music and Austin Butler were [fire],” one Twitter user wrote.

A second wrote: “All over the place, but really well made. Tom Hanks was easily the worst part but Austin Butler’s performance is incredible. 7.8/10 #Elvis.”

“Really cannot overstate how bad Tom Hanks is in ELVIS,” tweeted a third. “Arguably one of his worst ever performances. Felt closer to Fat Bastard from Austin Powers than anything non-fictional, or even human.

“Worst part? Despite being the objective villain, he never felt threatening at all.”

Hanks also came under fire for dressing in a fat suit for the part of Parker, much like the current criticism directed at Emma Thompson for her portrayal of Miss Trunchbull in Netflix’s production of the Matilda musical.

“Tom Hanks is wearing a fat suit in the movie ‘Elvis’. Can we agree that fat suits are offensive, absurd, and have no place in dramas? Hire Fat actors,” one person tweeted.

Another tweeted: “Between the insulting fat suit (because apparently there are no fat actors on the planet) and his pathetic and laughable performance, Tom Hanks should take a break from acting. #elvis.”

DiscussingFilm on Twitter: "First look at Austin Butler as Elvis and Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker in Baz Luhrmann's #Elvis https://t.co/jLpv3rz8WA" / Twitter

“Elvis movie was good with the notable exception of Tom Hanks in a fat suit and facial prosthetics. He was AWFUL,” wrote another Twitter user.

A fourth added: “I know it’s a little early for award predictions but I bet you tom hanks will win a razzie for his work as “tom hanks in a fat suit” in #Elvis [sic]”

Other Twitter users also went as far as to describe Hanks’ accent in the movie as “horrific” and “terrible”.

“Basically he looks like Fat Bastard and sounds like Goldmember,” wrote one viewer.

When questioned by Variety whether Tom Hanks’ accent was true to the actual Col. Parker, biographer Alanna Nash responded: “No. It was more American, more rural. And he had what sounded like a slight lisp or speech impediment.

“Turns out he didn’t have an impediment — he was just trying to wrap a Dutch tongue around the English language, Southern-style.”

Earlier, Tom Hanks was in the news for rushing to protect his wife from the aggressive fans who nearly knocked her down.

Johnny Depp to star as the French king as he arrives in Paris to film the first movie since winning the defamation trial

Since winning his defamation case against Amber Heard, Johnny Depp has been spotted leaving for Paris to begin filming his first movie. The first movie project Depp has worked on after his well-publicized defamation victory over Amber Heard earlier this month was the announcement that he has been cast as Louis XV of France in Maiwenn’s film.

On Monday, June 27, the actor arrived in Paris and was taken to his hotel by security.

According to Metro, Maiwenn’s movie, which is currently named Jeanne du Barry on IMDb, will shoot over the course of the next three months in the Palace of Versailles and other locations in and around Paris.

Despite being accused of corruption and immoral behavior toward the conclusion of his 59-year reign, Louis XV died in unfavorable circumstances. Jeanne du Barry, Louis XV’s final mistress, will be portrayed by Maiwenn.

Following a Virginia jury’s decision that Heard, the actor’s ex-wife, must pay him $15 million in damages for domestic abuse charges she made in a 2018 op-ed for The Washington Post, which they agreed defamed Depp, Depp touched down in Paris a few weeks ago.

Later, the charges were limited to $10.35 million, and Heard was given $2 million in damages via a counterclaim in a separate judgment.

However, on June 24, Depp and Heard’s legal teams were unable to strike a last-minute agreement. Heard’s legal team has indicated that she will likely appeal the decision, which would bring them both back into court.

And while Depp is getting ready to play a brand-new part, Captain Jack Sparrow is one character whose shoes we won’t be seeing him fill anytime soon.

Johnny Depp is seen leaving his hotel to go to the airport after spending a few days incognito in the French capital Paris.

Depp appeared to affirm this week that he won’t ever make another appearance in the Pirates of the Caribbean series.

The actor’s rep has dismissed the rumors that he will be making a comeback, telling NBC that they were “made up.”

The remarks made by Depp’s agent were in response to a Pop Topic post that stated Disney was “hopeful” Depp would reprise the role and had been given $301 million to do so.

Two more Pirates movies, one of which purportedly will feature Margot Robbie, are in development, but the 59-year-old actor isn’t involved in any of them.

Johnny Depp could return as Captain Jack for the ‘Pirates’ role with a $301M deal as per a report

Johnny Depp could be getting ready to walk the plank again as Captain Jack Sparrow. A recent report claims that there are rumors Disney is negotiating a “$301 million agreement” with the actor for a sixth Pirates of the Caribbean movie and spinoff series.

The alarming information, according to reports, was disclosed in a recent interview with Poptopic, an Australian newspaper. According to reports, the shocking information was revealed in a recent interview with Poptopic, an Aussie outlet Poptopic.

Johnny Depp portrays Captain Jack Sparrow in a scene from "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides."

“The deal is reportedly for Johnny Depp to return as Jack Sparrow,” the little leaking birdie claimed to the Down Under entertainment website.

Disney dropped the 59-year-old “Donnie Brasco” actor from the sixth and final “Pirates” film after Heard’s 36-year-old Washington Post op-ed, which Depp claimed falsely accused him of being a domestic abuser. Depp had starred as the dashing buccaneer in five “Pirates” films over the previous 19 years. The “Edward Scissorhands” icon reportedly missed out on a $22.5 million paycheck as a result.

Depp’s victory in a highly publicized defamation lawsuit earlier this month, though, suggests that the House of Mouse would be open to rehiring him in the legendary part.

“Disney is very interested in patching up their relationship with Johnny Depp,” the source alleged to Poptopic. “They reached out to the actor prior to his defamation trial against Amber Heard and asked whether he would be interested in returning for another ‘Pirates’ film or two.”

The E! network said that a source close to the actor informed NBC News that “this is made up,” although Depp and Disney’s representatives have not yet responded to The Post’s request for confirmation.

Depp will supposedly “return as Jack Sparrow in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 6’ and a spin-off Disney+ series on the early life of the Captain of the Black Pearl,” per the source, as part of the rumored comeback agreement, which is apparently worth a cool $301 million.

Depp Trial Forever: Johnny Gets $301M to Reprise Jack Sparrow Role?

“What I can tell you is that the studio has already penned up a draft for a film about Jack Sparrow, so they are very hopeful that Johnny will forgive them and return as his iconic character,” the source claimed.

The latest information comes after an unnamed Disney executive made a suggestion that the “Finding Neverland” star would don Captain Jack Sparrow’s tricorn hat once more after winning his defamation case.

“I absolutely believe post-verdict that ‘Pirates’ is primed for rebooting with Johnny as Capt. Jack back on board,” the source said in an interview with People magazine earlier this month. “There is just too much potential box-office treasure for a beloved character deeply embedded in the Disney culture,” they added.

Johnny Depp to testify in court Tuesday for Amber Heard libel trial - Trend Fool

In his defamation action against Heard earlier this month, Depp won more than $10 million. Heard was found accountable by a jury in Fairfax, Virginia for defaming Depp. However, the jury only gave Heard $2 million in damages after finding that one of Depp’s attorneys had slandered her.

Nevertheless, the “Aquaman” actress reportedly intends to appeal after she and Depp’s lawyers were unable to reach a deal on Friday.
